Christina Allred

First and foremost, I am a classically trained and professional cellist performing and teaching in the Omaha area. Classical is just the way I was trained while attending Loyola University of New Orleans studying with Alan Nesbitt and at University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO), where I studied with Dr. David Low. I hold a bachelor’s degree in music performance and a master’s degree in music performance both from UNO. I currently am attending National University in La Jolla, CA, online as a PhD candidate in the Sanford College of Education pursuing my PhD in psychology of education. I also am a veteran high school English teacher at Omaha South High School with Omaha Public Schools starting my sixteenth year with the 2023-2024 school year. I also hold a gifted and talented endorsement K-12 from University of Iowa, as well as a Language Arts endorsement 7-12, and a Reading Specialist master’s degree K-12 from UNO.

As for my cello career, I have taught individual and group lessons in the metro area since 2007, with a short break to focus on my PhD for the past four years. Valley View Music aligns with my teaching philosophy of student self-advocacy in lessons, higher level learning, in a dynamic and engaging atmosphere.

I also have performed cello as a sub for the Omaha Symphony, as a contracted performer at the Omaha Community Playhouse, The Rose, Bellevue Little Theater, Chanticleer Theater, Orchestra Omaha, Kanesville Orchestra, Metropolitan String Quartet, and at multiple weddings, social functions, and events as an independent contractor. I also am a member of American Federation of Musicians Union and the local Omaha Musicians Union 70-558.
